Now for today.
Today was rather lax...as Harv said: It's Sunday. We did morning chores and then stood around talked for a bit. Merle headed back to his place to have breakfast with his daughter, Brandy, and I went home a took a short nap before I got ready for church.
I went back to the Episcipal church while Merle and Brandy went to the Legion Hall to help clean up. After church I couldn't find anyone home at Ross and Marva's and didn't know that the others were cleaning the Legion so I went home and bummed around the house trying to get odds and ends done. By the time they got back from town and called, I had just gotten up from another 20 min nap. I went over to the other house to eat dinner and take one more nap! lol I was all about the naps today. Then, Harv stopped in and we sat around and talked and then decided we better play this game of cribbage we've been talking about for so long. So... we did and I stayed in the lead for quite some time, but Harvey ended up beating both of us- dang! I'm gunna have to work on my skills for some revenge next time! After some cake, we all headed back out. Harvey started his treck back to Spearfish and Merle and I went out to the hay field- or the ditch I should say.
I don't think I breathed for the first hour I was raking. Trying to avoid cars (which I pretty much failed to do once), culverts, washouts, fencelines, and tipping over were just a few things. But, we managed to get it all done by eight without hitting, tipping, or bending a thing. Woo Hoo for getting that done! By then we had to do chores quick before dark and then headed in for supper. That puts me here. Another nice day, really hot- but that's why air conditioned cabs are nice! Sounds like tomorrow we are going to pull eight bulls off of the black cows- could be interesting; then we'll hay in the afternoon. Well, I need to get some sleep- It was a great weekend and I know I'm really lucky to be with a family that includes me in so many things- it really makes life a lot more fun and interesting!
